In a thrilling NHL matchup, the New York Rangers emerged victorious in a 4-3 shootout battle against the Florida Panthers at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night. The Rangers took the early lead when Matthew Tkachuk scored a wrist shot with just over three minutes remaining in the first period. However, the Panthers responded in the second with two quick goals from Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart. The Rangers tied the game midway through the third period courtesy of Artemi Panarin, sending it into overtime.

Neither team could find the winning goal in overtime, setting up a dramatic shootout. Chris Kreider scored the lone goal for the Rangers in the shootout, while Spencer Knight made several key saves for New York. The Panthers were unable to convert their shootout attempts, resulting in the 4-3 victory for the Rangers.

Panarin led the Rangers with two goals in regulation, while Reinhart and Barkov each scored for the Panthers. Igor Shesterkin was solid in goal for the Rangers, stopping 28 of 31 shots faced. Knight made 30 saves for the Panthers.

With this victory, the Rangers improve to 23-12-4 on the season, while the Panthers drop to 20-13-6. The two teams will meet again on February 17th at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida.
